Indian Railways converted nearly 4,000 coaches into COVID care use with a capacity of 64,000 beds. Almost 6,000 beds ready for COVID care.
As per ministerial sources, [169 coaches already deployed as COVID Care Coaches in Madhya Pradesh Uttar Pradesh] Maharashtra and Delhi, given rising corona in respective states.
In Delhi 75 Covid Care Coaches have been deployed with 1,200 beds capacity. 50 Coaches positioned at Shakur Basti Railway Station and 25 at Anand Vihar Railway Station. Similarly in Uttar Pradesh 10 Coaches in each place at Faizabad, Bhadoi, Varanasi, Bareli, and Nazibabad with a capacity of 800 beds.
Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Divisional Manager Railways Nagpur and Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation for Covid Care Coaches for Nagpur District of Maharashtra. Railways are also mobilizing isolation coaches at Ajni ICD, Maharashtra.
