The United States condemns the persistent efforts of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik to erode the regional peace frameworks that have brought stability and security to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Today, we are designating two individuals and seven entities that provide major sources of revenue for Dodik ’s patronage network and enable his corruption.
U.S.-designated Milorad Dodik has used his official position to accumulate personal wealth through companies linked to himself and to his son, Igor Dodik. For instance, in 2024, Igor and Milorad exercised their control over senior BiH government officials to manipulate the draft BiH state budget so that a state-level contract could be awarded to an entity in Dodik’s network, outside of the competitive process.
Dodik continues to be a destabilizing actor in the region. His recent proposal of a Republika Srpska “disassociation” from BiH continues his blatantly anti-Dayton Peace Agreement activity and threatens the peace and stability of the region. By attacking BiH’s constitutional framework, Dodik threatens the country’s future in Euro-Atlantic institutions.
The United States will use all tools at our disposal against those who facilitate Dodik’s corruption and enable him to exploit the people of the Republika Srpska for his own benefit.
