Disqualification of President Trump

by Bill White

On August 8, 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided President Trump's Mar-a-Largo home in Palm Beach, Florida, under the thinly veiled guise of searching for purported 'classified' documents that are alleged to have been brought to his home after he left the White House.

Leaving aside the equally relevant facts that representatives for the National Archives had already collected more than a dozen boxes of documents, which President Trump made available for inspection, and the irrefutable fact that President Trump could have and may have declassified all of the documents while he was President and before they were brought to his home, it is obvious to any reasonable person that this raid was merely an attempt to justify the further persecution of President Trump in a vain hope of preventing him from running for President in 2024.

I intended to write in detail about the legal basis for why this notion is completely ridiculous, but that analysis would be wasted on Leftists and not needed for those on the Right, so I will simply explain it this way. All existing or any proposed legislation often referred to by Leftists simply does not and would not apply to the Office of the President, a post for which the qualifications are clearly defined within the U.S. Constitution.

To the Democrats lusting over President Trump; the U.S. Constitution provides ONLY four points on which a person may be disqualified from running for or being President of the United States:

  1. Age;

  2. Fighting in the Civil War;

  3. Citizenship; or

  4. Impeachment plus disqualification by the Senate

In fact, President Trump could run for and serve another term as President from jail. And while we could debate this point, I believe that once President for a second four-year term, Donald Trump could simply pardon himself and leave whatever prison cell Leftists created for him.

There is no provision in any law that would pass Constitutional muster to prevent Donald Trump from being President again.

Neither the U.S. Congress nor any of the States could pass any legislation to overturn the Constitution.
