Hebrew Synagogue is proud to announce the launch of its pioneering Master of Global Ethics and Leadership (MGEL) programme, a doctoral-level adult education initiative designed to empower individuals with the skills and knowledge to address today’s most pressing global challenges.
This innovative programme offers a unique blend of ethical theory and practical leadership training, providing participants with the tools to inspire, guide, and create meaningful change in their communities and the wider world. Delivered entirely through remote learning, the MGEL is tailored to accommodate the diverse commitments of adult learners, with flexible timelines spanning 3–5+ years, depending on the student’s availability and prior experience.
Empowering Leaders Through Advanced Education
The MGEL curriculum is built on a robust foundation of ethical frameworks, interdisciplinary approaches, and leadership principles. Students will engage in in-depth studies of topics such as sustainability, conflict resolution, and the ethical implications of technology. With guidance from experienced mentors and global experts, participants will explore how ethical decision-making and leadership can transcend cultural and ideological boundaries to tackle complex societal issues.
The programme consists of four key stages: foundational coursework, advanced research, field application, and a final dissertation or capstone project. Designed to be as rigorous as a traditional PhD, the MGEL allows students to specialise in areas such as global governance, environmental ethics, or peacebuilding while producing original research or actionable leadership strategies.
Inclusivity and Accessibility
As a secular (non-religious) programme, the MGEL is open to participants from all backgrounds, with no requirement to be Jewish. Hebrew Synagogue is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives can enrich the learning experience.
Grants Available for Eligible Students
Thanks to the steadfast support and personal guarantee of the Hebrew Synagogue’s Founder and Executive Director, has made available liberal grants to qualifying students to help finance their education.
