On behalf of the United States of America, I extend my congratulations to the Republic of Nauru as it celebrates the 57th anniversary of its independence.
Our longstanding shared history centering democratic values and people-to-people ties will continue to unite our countries as we address common challenges and seek prosperity for our peoples. The United States remains committed to addressing our shared challenges bilaterally and through existing regional architecture like the Pacific Islands Forum to promote a free, open, and secure Blue Pacific Region. My heartfelt wishes are with the people of Nauru today.
