Founded in 1997, the Origin of Books, an imprint of WireNews Limited, has today announced that the book publisher has been renamed to Mayside Books ™.
Mayside Books ™ has access to traditional and digital (print-on-demand) facilities and solid agreements with distribution outlets that enable it to promote your title effectively.
Bill White, CEO of WireNews Limited said: "This name change for the Origin of Books, which I founded in 1997, has been in the works for quite some time."
"I have been tailoring a number of group companies into the 'Mayside Brand' over the last two years and so I am very pleased to announce the rebranding of the Origin of Books to Mayside Books," explained White.
"We publish books from time to time; it’s not our primary interest so we’re not out actively soliciting manuscripts. "We consider every book idea that comes our way so if you’ve been turned down by ‘other’ book publishers, give us a shout — we might just be interested. "It’s unlikely that we will get into a ‘bidding war’ with another publisher so if you have an offer, take it. "If, however, you’ve got a great idea for a book and you’re hitting roadblocks in your quest to find a publisher, contact Mayside Books", White continued.
The standard agreement is as follows:
Mayside Books pays all publishing and distribution costs;
Mayside Books pays a 50% monthly royalty on all book sales (after direct distribution costs);
Mayside Books will own all future rights to that edition/version; and
Mayside Books will make a royalty advance for deserving books, so don't be afraid to ask. Just be prepared to make your case.
