Scottish National Party Political Member appointed to the Committee on Standards in Public Life
Ian Blackford MP has been appointed as the SNP Member for the Committee on Standards in Public Life.
Commencing the role today, 26th June 2023, Blackford has been a member of Parliament for Ross, Skye and Lochaber since May 2015. From June 2017 until December 2022, he was the Westminster Leader of the SNP Parliamentary group.
Prior to entering Parliament Ian spent nearly two decades in the city as a fund manager as well as an investment banker before establishing his own investor relations consultancy business and acting as a non-executive director.
The Committee on Standards in Public Life is an independent advisory non-departmental public body that advises the Prime Minister on arrangements for upholding ethical standards across public life.
