Shamil Saquib Nachan a resident of Padgha, Thane District of Maharashtra, was arrested by National Investigation Agency for his active involvement in promoting terrorist activities of ISIS. This is the sixth arrest for the Pune ISIS module case. His involvement in the fabrication, training, and testing of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) for the commissioning of terror activities is under the scanner.
Apart from Nachan, five more suspects are actively involved. Two of them are from Sufa Terrorist Gang. They declared the most wanted in the case of explosive recovery from a car in Rajasthan in April 2022. The preliminary investigation reveals that all of them are members of an ISIS sleeper module operating from Pune.
As per official sources, their probe into the ISIS Pune module case on August 3, 2023, has shown that the accused had plans to commit terror activities to disturb peace and communal harmony.
