Journalist turned writer, written a couple of books on violence during Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly elections of West Bengal, Ras Bihari Sharma is elected as National President in the recently held binary election of the National Union of Journalists (India).
Known for his book “भय-आतंक काचुनाव” (Election of Fear-Terror) is a mirror of the violent incidents that took place during the 2019 Lok Sabha and 2021 Assembly election of West Bengal, including fatal attacks on opposition and journalists.
At present, Ras Bihari is holding the position of Group Editor in Public Asia.

According to returning officer Ashok Kinkar, all three bearers were elected unanimously.
